  styrofoam
"I tried to start pretty basic... a bunch of the book is
just about the geometry of the motion, and how to
design four-bar linkages, and that kind of stuff... though
I assume parts from Grainger's, to make it more
universal. But yeah, you could probably apply the info
in the book to garage-sale parts.. It does go into
pneumatics and control stuff, too."

Building It:

I hacked the pvc into lenghts that 'felt' spidery. Not in mood to write instructions so take a look at pics and wing it!

The spider's legs were painted with Ralph Lauren brown.
Why?
Because it was a reject color and the gallon of paint cost me $5!

Lessons Learned:

This area to be edited soon in the distant future.

The eyes are made of small buckets with ping pong balls. The ping pong balls were cut in half then glued onto the buckets. After the glue dried I painted everything red. After the paint dried I went back to paint just the balls and then sprinkled glitter on the eyes.

The pincers are made from plywood and styrofoam painted Ralph Lauren brown.
